Carlo di Lanno, Principal Dancer, on The Sleeping Beauty

Principal Dancer Carlo di Lanno gives a description of the classical training that prepared him to dance Prince Desiré in The Sleeping Beauty, and offers a lively account of performing the 3rd Act variation for an early audition. He discusses his approach to taking on the character. He compares performing this most classical role to the neo-classical and contemporary works in which he appears throughout the season, looking forward especially to the Shostakovich Trilogy on Program 8.
